    Social activism
  • Portland's Queer Resource Center (Q Center) - The mission of Q Center is to increase the visibility of and foster connection within metropolitan Portland's Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Questioning (LGBTQ) community. The center builds public awareness and support, and celebrates LGBTQ diversity through art, culture, and programming. In 2003, an effort was launched to explore the feasibility of a LGBTQ community center. More than 1600 individuals and 30 organizations weighed in on the question. The end results were clear: Portland needs, wants and can support a LGBTQ Community Center!
  • Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC) - SMYRC Provides support for the health and well being of sexual minority youth ages 23 and under by providing safe and positive skill-building opportunities and access to health promotion resources.
  • Basic Rights Oregon - Basic Rights Oregon works to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
  • PFLAG - Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, their families and friends.
  • Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) - Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is the leading HIV prevention, support, housing and advocacy organization in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
  • Love Makes a Family - Love Makes a Family is a non-profit organization working for social change and in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered families.
  • Equity Foundation - Equity Foundation works to inspire philanthropy and support nonprofit organizations throughout Oregon that further its mission to build communities that embrace the dignity and worth of all people.
