Pride Northwest’s mission is to encourage and celebrate the positive diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans communities, and to assist in the education of all people through the development of activities that showcase the history, accomplishments, and talents of these communities.

By donating cryptocurrency, you can make an important difference by supporting our year round programs. When not planning the Portland Pride Waterfront Festival and Parade, the Pride Northwest staff works with our community partners to help host legal clinics, yearly community impact drives for our houseless community, providing meals to community members through pantries and meal programs. Our LGBTQIA2S+ Youth Community Building program is a long time sponsor of Pride at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility and support programming for LGBTQIA2S+ youth year round.

How Does it Work?

Pride Northwest will accept forms of cryptocurrency that have an equivalent value in real currency or that acts as a substitute for real currency, also known as “convertible virtual currency”. Such forms of cryptocurrency are listed on an exchange and the exchange rate is established by market supply and demand. The fair market value of the virtual currency is determined by converting the virtual currency into U. S. dollars at the exchange rate in a reasonable manner that is consistently applied. Contributions of cryptocurrency will be treated as a contribution of Tangible Personal Property. We accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and over 80 additional leading cryptocurrencies.  For a full list go to the Cryptos We Accept.

How can I donate cryptocurrency to Pride Northwest?

Donating crypto is safe, easy, and fast. Using the widget on this page, making a charitable gift is a quick three-step process:

  1. Select your preferred crypto and enter your gift amount

  2. Type in your email and basic info (or choose to give anonymously)

  3. Make your gift!

Upon making a donation, you can elect to receive an automatically generated tax receipt that will be sent to the email address you provide. This confirmation of your donation will help you close the loop when calculating your taxes.

Crypto charitable donations are processed quickly and safely with The Giving Block and Gemini Trust Exchange. 

Contributions of Cryptocurrency must be converted to US Dollars as swiftly as is practicable. They may not be made in a completely anonymous manner although donors may request anonymity in publications and/or gift announcements. All gifts of cryptocurrency are considered irrevocable upon conversion to US Dollars and may not be refunded.

You will automatically receive a receipt from receipts@thegivingblock.com as soon as the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain.
